The manufacturing method includes the steps of: manufacturing a TFT structure on a flexible substrate, the TFT structure including a non-metal layer area; successively manufacturing a display device and a thin film encapsulation layer on the TFT structure; forming a curing material layer on the thin film encapsulation layer, the curing material layer including a specific area, and a projection of the specific area on the flexible substrate overlapping with a projection of the non-metal layer area on the flexible substrate; and patterning the curing material layer so that the thickness of the specific area of the curing material layer is greater than the thickness of the other area, apart from the specific area, of the curing material layer. By means of the flexible display apparatus and the manufacturing method therefor, where the thickness of a film layer is not changed, the stress on a weak stress area is transferred to another area with a thinner thickness and a stronger bearing capacity around same, thereby reducing the bending radius.
